My interview Experience of E & Taxation Inspector
Hi everyone!
My Interview of Excise and Taxation Inspector was held on 2-6-2014 at E&T Office Gujranwala. There were two panels. I was the second last person to be interviewed. It all started in a pleasant smooth way. Environment was quite friendly. It lasted for about 35 minutes.
They asked questions from almost all the topics. They grilled me particularly on my present job and water issue between Pakistan and India.
Medium of Interview was mix but mostly in English. Here are the details of my interview
I am just writing Question.
Chairman: Beta introduce yourself briefly?
Chairman : well, you are from Mandi Bahauddin? Some questions related my district
Chairman: In which year you have done your final degree?
Chairman: ok, what was your major in your final degree?
Chairman: What have you been doing since 2010? Many counter questions, I tried to satisfied him but i succeeded somehow
Chairman: Why did you leave your previous job? Some questions about my present job
Chairman: you should have tried your luck for some Private Job?
Chairman: why do want Govt. Job? Benefits and drawbacks of the both private and govt. jobs
Chairman: which game do you play? I said snooker
Chairman: beta, you are a young man you should play some physical game
Then chairman referred me to the 2nd member
2nd member: beta, tell what is the biggest economic problem of Pakistan?
2nd member: do you know about the results of elections held in India?
2nd member: who came in into power?
2nd member: what are the major problems between India and Pakistan?
2nd member: what is composite dialogue?
2nd member: how many components?
2nd member: ok tell about the exact nature of water problem between Pakistan and India?
2nd member: dont make commentary? Tell me about genuine problems? Some counter questioning related Indus water treaty
2nd member: why do want to Join Excise department?
2nd member: E&T is a combination of Excise and taxation, tell what comes under excise and what under taxation?
2nd member: who controls and regulates liquor and other intoxicated drugs?
2nd member: What is Rental Value?
2nd member: what is Job Description of Excise Inspector?
2nd member: Suppose are selected what unique steps would you take for the betterment of this department?
Now its turn of 3rd member
Mostly subject related questions
3rd Member: Your major is in marketing, then tell me what are 4Ps?
3rd Member: What is SWOT Analysis?
3rd Member: What is double entry system?
Some Questions related to financial accounting and taxation?
3rd Member: what is demand curve?
3rd Member: elasticity of demand?
Again Chairman: may you remember, many years ago, one of the top Politician of Pakistan had said that we wanted to re-brand Pakistan? What does it means??
Chairman: What is meant by brand image?
Chairman: what is the definition of brand? Some other definition are asked as well
Chairman: what is the hierarchy of excise department?
Chairman: how do you see your career path in this department?
Chairman: where do you see you in next 15-20 years?
Chairman: What would do if you get better employment opportunity somewhere?
Then they concluded it

off course this was tough enough as most questions were open-ended. it is always difficult to answer opinion based question. i tried my level best. about 2-3 questions i skipped, on two issues like water crisis and private vs govt. job there was a discussion and i had to agree with their viewpoint, while remaining part went very wellranamajid99 wrote:What percentage of question you answered properly.
