The second part of the preamble is a declaration in a contractual style that the governments of the peoples of the United Nations have agreed to the Charter and it is the first international document regarding human rights.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud on Sunday, said a statement issued by military’s media wing.

The Saudi king and the army chief agreed that both the countries share great history of cordial relations and deep spirit of brotherhood which has transformed into an enduring partnership, read the Inter-Services Public Relations statement.

The Russian Defence Ministry said on Monday that one of its planes had crashed in northeast Siberia with 39 people on board as it tried to make an emergency landing near a Soviet-era military base.

Russian news agencies reported that nobody had been killed in the incident, but said 32 people had been airlifted to hospital, 16 of whom were in serious condition.

Russia's ambassador to Ankara Andrey Karlov was badly wounded and died in a gun attack while visiting an art exhibition opening in the Turkish capital on Monday, television reports said.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while addressing a joint press conference with Bosnian counterpart Denis Zvizdic in Sarajevo briefed journalists regarding the plans for cooperation of the two countries on coal and hydro-power projects.

He said, "Denis and I have just concluded a session of most productive and detailed round of talks. We reviewed and expressed satisfaction on the progress of the entire spectrum of bilateral relations."

MOSCOW: Russia, Iran and Turkey said they were ready to help broker a Syrian peace deal after the three countries held talks in Moscow on Tuesday and adopted a declaration which set out the principles any agreement should adhere to.

The countries made the announcement after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov hosted talks with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu held parallel talks with his Iranian and Turkish opposite numbers.

The document, which Shoigu called the “Moscow Declaration”, said the trio were confident it would revive the moribund peace process. It also backed an expanded ceasefire.

Eleven children were killed when a bus driver lost control of his vehicle and ploughed into a Muslim procession marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in northern Nigeria, police said Wednesday.

The accident Tuesday in Malam Sidi village in Gombe state was due to a brake failure, Ahmed Usman, the spokesperson for police, said.

"A total of 11 children died in the incident while 17 others were seriously injured," Usman told AFP.

The ‘Pakistan Gate’ at Taftan, near the Pakistan-Iran border was inaugurated Wednesday, marking the completion of the first phase which had commenced on July 16.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Aamir Riaz inaugurated the facility which comprises two gates and is visible from a distance of two kilometres on both sides of the border.

The facility is equipped with CCTV cameras and has offices of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), Pakistan Customs and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Security is multi-tiered and is provided by Levies and the Frontier Corps.
